Toyota Indonesia introduces the New Fortuner and All New Land Cruiser

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) on Thursday released two sports utility vehicle (SUV) cars, namely the New Fortuner and the All New Land Cruiser.

TAM Vice President Director Henry Tanoto said that the presence of the two large-bodied SUVs was in line with the public’s increasing preference for cars in the middle to upper segment.

“The Land Cruiser has become part of the history of transportation in Indonesia. It is known as a tough and reliable car to fill the premium SUV segment,” said Henry, Thursday.

He also said that the old edition of the Land Cruiser is still used by the Indonesian people, for example as a tourist fleet in difficult terrain such as the Bromo Tourist Area.

The All New Land Cruiser introduced this year is a successor edition to the LC200 but with components and changes to the platform, namely using the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform.

Thanks to the use of the TNGA global platform and aluminum body, the weight of the Land Cruiser is claimed to be lighter, thereby optimizing performance and fuel consumption.

The latest Land Cruiser comes with a choice of GR-S 4X4 A/T and VXR 4X4 A/T. TAM, 3.3 L V6 diesel engine.

Meanwhile, for the New Fortuner, Toyota installed a new 1GD engine with a powertrain capacity of 2,800 cc, which is more powerful than the previous 2GD engine, but with almost the same efficiency.

Toyota is selling the All New Land Cruiser at a price of IDR 2.327 billion (VXR) and IDR 2.378 billion (GR-S). Meanwhile, the New Fortuner costs IDR 580.9 million (VRZ 4×2), IDR 597.9 million (VRZ GR Sport 4×2) and IDR 684.5 million (VRZ GR Sport 4×4).
