Harcourts is launching a coordinated auction campaign across its Australian and New Zealand offices to raise funds for Orange Sky. The program, called Your Day, will run from 25 January to 7 February 2027. The real estate network will donate $100 from every eligible sale to the Harcourts Foundation to support the charity’s work.
Turning sales into community support
The Harcourts Foundation Head Pauline Smith described the campaign as a way to turn property transactions into practical aid. “Through Your Day, our network has an opportunity to turn successful property sales into practical support, helping Orange Sky reach more people who need it,” she said.
Pauline added that the initiative allows individual offices to contribute to the communities where they operate. Harcourts Head of Auctions Australia Kobe Rae highlighted the dual benefit of the event. “Auctions are about bringing people together to create opportunities, and Your Day takes that idea a little further. It gives our participating offices a coordinated campaign to get behind, while also creating a way for every Australian sale to contribute to something meaningful,” he said.
Orange Sky provides free laundry and shower services, along with conversation and connection, to people experiencing homelessness and hardship. The charity’s CEO Lucas Patchett noted that demand for these services has grown significantly. “We continue to see more and more people reach out to Orange Sky for support,” Lucas said. “This increase is coming from families, retirees, students, and people who are currently employed. Australians are doing it really tough right now, and no one deserves to go without the essentials of clean clothes, a hot shower, and a safe place to connect.”

Lucas said that Orange Sky values building strong connections with local communities, and through the Harcourts Foundation ‘Your Day’ partnership, Orange Sky will be able to reach more people who need a helping hand – or simply a friendly face to chat to.
Local efforts to aid homelessness
While the Your Day campaign targets national growth, local Harcourts offices are also finding ways to channel funds into their neighborhoods. Jessica Melling, a Property Manager at Harcourts Property Hub, has spent the last five years organizing a Halloween display at her home in Mudgeeraba.
She began the tradition for her nephew, who was too afraid to trick-or-treat. The event has since expanded into a street-wide gathering. This year, Jessica and her helpers distributed more than 1,200 lolly bags over a few hours, with support from 13 other houses on Sugarglider Lane. “We honestly lost count of how many additional lollies we gave away. We even had another 30kg of lollies as backup!” Jessica said.
Jessica registered the event through Hallo-Wish this year to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The initiative raised $500 online and another $650 in cash donations on the day, totaling $1,150. “It’s a huge amount of work, and I’m lucky to have an amazing group of friends and my husband who get dragged into helping me every year,” she said. “But seeing thousands of people enjoying themselves and the community coming together makes it all worthwhile.”
