AUTO24.africa, the pan-African used-car retailer supported by Stellantis, has raised Pierre Jégou to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) to strengthen its executive leadership as the company accelerates growth across five African markets. Jégou will collaborate alongside Co-Founder and CEO Axel Peyriere, who retains responsibility for strategy, partnerships and capital development.
Jégou’s Promotion and Leadership Background
Jégou joined AUTO24.africa in August 2024 as Commercial Performance Manager, collaborating with country managers to improve sales execution and streamline business processes. Prior to joining AUTO24.africa, Jégou accumulated nearly a decade of experience in Côte d’Ivoire, including roles in automotive financing, retail and commercial real estate. He previously served as Country Manager for Autochek in Côte d’Ivoire and held positions at Carrefour within CFAO and Regus in Abidjan.
According to Peyriere, Jégou’s promotion formalizes responsibilities he has progressively assumed while working with the company’s regional teams. The leadership change follows the August 2025 appointment of François-Hugues d’Aillières as Group Chief Financial Officer, who previously held CFO roles at Jumia Group and GreenYellow.
Expansion Across Five African Markets
AUTO24.africa launched operations in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in September 2022, coinciding with Stellantis’ investment in parent company Africar Group. It expanded into Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa in 2023, establishing a presence across North, West, East and Southern Africa. The company’s primary business involves purchasing, reconditioning and selling certified used vehicles through physical dealerships and online platforms, accounting for approximately 90% of its activity. Its workforce exceeds 220 employees across operating markets and support teams.
The group aims to improve vehicle sourcing, accelerate inventory turnover and deliver a consistent customer experience regionally. Jégou’s new role centers on operational efficiency, procurement and service delivery consistency across the five markets.
Diversification into Electric Mobility and Automotive Services
AUTO24.africa is expanding beyond used cars into complementary sectors. EV24.africa operates an electric-vehicle marketplace serving customers across Africa, having delivered vehicles to over 20 countries and receiving hundreds of weekly enquiries from all 54 African nations. The platform now includes electric two- and three-wheelers, such as the Fiat Tris, in collaboration with Stellantis.
The group also runs MEKA24, a vehicle maintenance and repair business in Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and South Africa. PARTS24 provides an online marketplace with over 50,000 references in Morocco, partnering with Stellantis’ SUSTAINera circular-economy business. PARTS24 plans to expand into Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire by late 2026.
