Peter Travlos has opened McGrath Taylors Lakes, a new real estate office located 20 kilometers northwest of Melbourne’s CBD, servicing the City of Brimbank. The office launches with a team of eight sales agents, five support staff, and a property management division of 11 staff overseeing 740 properties, which the agency plans to expand.
Strategic Expansion for McGrath
The launch extends McGrath’s presence in Victoria, according to Chris Mourd, the company’s head of franchise. “The opening of Taylors Lakes represents another important step in our growth across Victoria,” Mourd stated, highlighting the strategic importance of this expansion. “Peter’s passion for the local community, combined with the strength of the McGrath brand and platform, creates a compelling opportunity to deliver excellent outcomes for clients and to continue building market share across the region,” he added. Travlos emphasized the region’s growth potential, citing its evolving market and significant infrastructure investments. “The City of Brimbank region in which we are located represents a substantial and evolving market, with our office strategically positioned at its heart,” he said.
Focus on Relationships, Not Just Transactions
The office covers a broad area, spanning from Calder Park in the north to Derrimut in the south, and from Keilor Downs and Deer Park in the east to Thornhill Park in the west. The catchment includes Sunshine, named a top pick in the McGrath Report 2027. Travlos stressed his commitment to building long-term client relationships and deep local market knowledge over transaction volume. “McGrath has a strong reputation for premium service, relationships led by agents and a more personalised approach to real estate,” Peter said. “That positioning is particularly attractive to me because I want to build a business based on lasting client relationships, repeat and referral business, and strong local market knowledge rather than simply transaction volume.”
Strong Market Activity and Auction Focus
The office has scheduled 15 auctions for November, featuring properties in areas such as Caroline Springs, Keilor Downs, and Taylors Lakes. Peter said buyer interest was coming from both local and interstate markets, with growing investor demand drawn to the area’s value and yields. “Our team stands out through a combination of innovative selling strategies, a strong team culture and a genuine connection to the local community,” Peter said. “One of our key points of difference is our in-room auction events, which continue to generate strong competition and outstanding results for our clients, with a 75% average clearance rate over the past eight years.”
