Land owners ‘devastated’ with Waterloo Region’s plans to purchase properties

The Region of Waterloo wants to purchase land in Wilmot Township for, what it calls, future “shovel-ready projects.”

According to Alfred Lowrick, they’re trying to purchase 770 aces of land across from six different farm properties – between Nafziger Road, Bleams Road and Wilmot Center Road.

Lowrick said those farm owners are feeling blindsided by the potential sale.

“They’re devastated,” he explained to CTV News. “It’s terrible.”

While Lowrick is not directly impacted by the plan, his mother-in-law is. On March 9, she found out the region wants to purchase her 85 acres.

“My wife was at home and she was given a letter and it said someone will come back and will want to talk about the expropriation of my mother-in-law’s land,” Lowrick said.

According to Lowrick, the owners have not received official expropriation documents. So far, it’s an offer for purchase.

“We’ve had some legal counsel already on this and everyone we’ve talked to seems to indicate that it would be very, very difficult to stop the process if it was expropriation,” he explained.

Keppel Land – Metland begins handover of Wisteria Housing Phase II

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Keppel Land and Metropolitan Land Tbk (Metland) handed over the second phase of Wisteria units as a housing project resulting from collaboration between the two developers located in Cakung, East Jakarta.

This project stands strategically on 7 (seven) hectares of land which is close to toll road access and various commercial facilities such as IKEA Cakung, malls, as well as well-known schools and hospitals.

Apart from that, Reynard William explained, the residence has four main advantages, including, firstly, architecture, including the Wisteria house design which displays architecture that has modern aesthetics but still has high functional value.

BTS Appearance on “I-LAND” – ANTARA News

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The television channel Mnet revealed footage of the presence of the K-pop idol group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) at the survival show “I-LAND” which is preparing to enter the final stage.

Through a 16 second video, BTS personnel appear from the egg-shaped stage, which is typical of “I-LAND”. V looked relaxed while sitting cross-legged and between his six colleagues.

They looked amazed to see the location of “I-LAND”. J-Hope said, “Now, shall we go to an unknown world?” then Jungkook continued who said, “This is amazing!”. Then, a voice was heard “BTS, welcome to ‘I-LAND.'”

Mnet hinted at BTS’s presence in “I-LAND” through a snippet on July 31 and was emphasized again in last week’s special episode.
